Hello and welcome to 2012!

2011 was a banner year for NSN in Austin.  The Austin chapter had a record number of members, a host of packed events, and a strong presence within the national organization.  In 2012 we will continue to ramp up our efforts and take it to the next level!

We will host Success Experiences designed to help YOU grow your career and/or business.  Take time and think through your personal growth strategies with our Growth Experiences.  Meet new contacts, potential clients, and develop new business relationships with our Connection Experiences.

While many say “I’m not a sales person”, the reality is that we’re all selling.  Whether you’re selling your boss on how to get your next promotion, selling an employer on why they’d hire you, or selling someone on why they’d do business with you; we are all selling.  NSN strives to teach/train/develop skills that will allow you to impact your career and business while growing your network.  NSN is an inclusive organization and we’re looking for sales professionals, entrepreneurs, and business leaders to join and collaborate with us.

Finally, Austin continues to be a hotbed of business activity.  Site Selection magazine named Texas as the state with the top business climate.  Austin is one of only 3 major markets to add small businesses between 2008 and 2009 – the height of the Great Recession.  Additionally, according the Capital City Chamber of Commerce Austin has also received the following rankings and accolades:

• Number 3 Best Place for Business in the US (Forbes Magazine)
• 2nd in the Nation for the most Free Wireless Hotspots (JiWire Inc., 1/06)
• Number 2 Large Market for Families to Relocate (www.erc.org, 05/05)
• Austin Named One of Five Most Innovative Entrepreneurial Regions in the US (www.sba.gov/advo/research, 04/05)
• Number 4 city for Projected Job Growth in a city with over 1 million residents (Business 2.0 magazine citing data from research firm Global Insight Inc., 5/06)
